BTEC Level 2 Business Studies

Provide full-time learners the opportunity to enter employment in the Business sector or progress on to BTEC Nationals Business Studies Level 3.

BTEC Level 2 in Business Exam Board: EDEXCEL

The Edexcel BTEC level 2 First Award has been designed to provide an engaging and stimulating introduction to the world of business.  The core units cover the essential knowledge and skills required in the business sector.  The optional units specialise cover the day to day running of a business including banding, sales and recruitment.

BTEC level 2 Business qualifications are designed to provide highly specialist, work-related qualifications in a range of vocational sectors.  The qualification gives leaners the knowledge and understanding and skills they need to prepare for employment.  On successful completion of BTEC level 2 qualifications, a learner can progress to or within education and/or continue their study in the same or related vocational area.

This qualification is taught over 240 guided learning hours (GLH). It has core, mandatory and optional specialist units. Learners must complete the two core units, the mandatory unit, and a choice of optional specialist units to reach a total of 240 GLH. The Edexcel BTEC Level 2 First Award in Business includes an externally assessed finance unit in the core to introduce externality into vocational programmes of study.
